During the Crystal War, repeated eye-witness accounts were received from the battlefields of volant creatures resembling what until then had been nothing more than legend. All reports indicated that these pixies, as they came to be called, had the power to wield magic as well as manipulate the winds. At the time, such accounts were dismissed by the nations' armies as hallucinations, brought about by the enormous mental strain of the war.

Notes

Pixies operate on a hate system which is currently not fully understood. At the minimum hate level, Pixies are non-aggressive and if you come across one while you have yellow or lower HP, it will usually Cure you. Also, if a Pixie comes across your dead body, it will often Raise you with no experience point loss and full (though weakened) HP. There is quite a long delay between a Pixie's casting times, so one will usually wander a good distance away before it is even capable of casting another spell on you.

It is generally agreed upon that killing Pixies will slowly cause them to not help you at all, and eventually become aggressive. This assumed hate seems to degenerate over time, similar to that of the Apkallu hate system.

It has been hinted at that killing Pixies will slowly reduce their population on a server which can only be raised back up slowly by trading any Bottled Pixie items dropped by various beastmen to the Fay Spring, located in a north-western area of Grauberg (S) called Witchfire Glen.
