Notes
- The duration of the Charm effect depends on the level difference between the player and the enemy being charmed.
- Charm+ gear affects duration of Charm. Charm +1 will add 5% to the duration of charm. Charm +20 will effectively double Charm's duration.
- The success rate of Charm can be improved by increasing a player's CHR, and possibly Magic Accuracy.
- A Light Staff or Apollo's Staff will also improve Charm rate, but exact values are unknown. It is believed to increase Charm rate by 10% for Light Staff, and 15% for Apollo's Staff, following suit of the other staves.
- Charm, like melee attacks or most magic, is never 100% accurate. No matter how weak a mob is in relation to the player, there's always the chance of a failed charm. Similarly, assuming the monster is charmable, there's always a small chance to succeed.
- Charm accuracy, while enhanced by Charisma, is primarily based on the level difference between the player and monster.
- There is some (evidence) to support the rumor that Charm accuracy is based on Beastmaster level even when subbed
- A functional difference between Sub Job Charm with different main job level Beastmasters has never been shown, and has not been found when it has been looked for.
- Some families of mobs have a stronger resistance to Charm than others. Most notably Slimes, but also Opo-opos, Flytraps, Raptors, Mandragoras, Sabotenders, Snow Hares and Category:Slugs.
- This likely comes from a combination of Light resistance (like Sabotenders) and Resist Charm traits.
- If Charm is used on an enemy that is immune, it will be bound for a short duration.
