Intelligence
Abbreviation: INT
Intelligence is the "offensive" stat associated with Black Magic and many (but not all) magical Weapon Skills. It is compared to the enemy's intelligence in order to calculate the "dINT" spell base damage term for Black Magic Damage and Ninjutsu, or the fINT for magical Weapon Skills. It is involved in the calculation of Magic Accuracy for Black Magic, some additional effects, and Ninjutsu. It likely determines Magic Evasion when hit by Black Magic and some additional effects.
It also holds some minor defensive importance because of its role in these equations, in that the dINT or fINT term of monster magic and weapon skills can be shrunk by raising your own Intelligence. It is generally less successful at lowering magic damage than Magic Defense Bonus and -%Magic Damage Taken and less successful at increasing resist rate than stacking elemental resistance, but is something to consider on pieces like Duelist's Gloves +1.
INT is associated with the Element: Ice as can be seen on most INT rings, ie: Knowledge Ring.
Other Roles
- INT is important for arrow additional effect max damage, much as MND is important for Holy Bolt damage.
- INT is used as a modifier in some Blue Magic, like Firespit
- INT is used as a modifier in some Weapon Skills, notably Scythe and Great Sword.
